Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter has shared a new mix via NTS radio. You can hear the full set below.

The selections focus on piano pieces and orchestral movements, tying in with the French electronic music icon's first full-length solo project in two years, 'Mythologies'. Arriving last week, it is a new 90-minute score to a ballet of the same name.

Co-produced by Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine and Ballet Preljocaj, with direction from the acclaimed Romain Dumas, Bangalter shared details of his involvement in the project during an interview for Apple Music's Classical Connections show. He also revealed that he's currently working on a movie soundtrack.

Speaking on the show, he said: "Right now I'm working on some film scores, some other secret project, as usual. I always like to keep it a secret because I'm working usually in a spontaneous way and everything can always end up in the trash at the last minute if I'm not satisfied with the outcome.

"I'm just very grateful after these decades of music to have these opportunities to reinvent my relationship to writing, to reassess my relationship to technology, as well. And here was an interesting form for me after having been surrounded by so many machines to be just with a scoring paper and notes and it was very calming. It was lockdown compatible, I would say too, but I really much appreciated that process."

Earlier this year, DJ Mag readers voted on the best Daft Punk tracks of all time. You can see the results, and listen to the playlist, here. Last month (March), details of a new book about the duo, After Daft: The Rewiring of 21st Century Culture, were unveiled, including a list of high profile interviewees set to appear in its pages.
