Little Simz 2022 MOBO Awards

This year's MOBO Awards were held at London's OVO Wembley Arena last night, Thursday 30th November, celebrating the best in music of Black origin.

On the night, Little Simz and Knucks shared honours for Album of the Year, their respective records 'Sometimes I Might Be Introvert' and 'Alpha Place' evidently equally impressive in the eyes of judges.

Elsewhere, PinkPantheress walked away with Best Female Act, while Central Cee took the gong for the male category. Dreya Mac, FelixThe1st and Finch Fetti were crowned for Song of the Year ('Own Brand (Baddie)'), and Bru-C received Best Newcomer.

One of the most prominent success stories in modern jungle and drum & bass, Nia Archives won the ceremony's first ever Best Electronic Act gong, fending off stiff competition from Sherelle, Jax Jones, Anz, Eliza Rose and FKA Twigs

Other notable mentions come in the form of Burna Boy (Best International Act and Best African Music Act), K-Trap (Best Drill Act), D-Block Europe (Best Hip Hop Act), and D Double E (Best Grime Act). Kaine Robinson, AKA Kano, was also commended for Best Performance In A TV Show or Film following his turn as Sully in 'Top Boy'.

Meanwhile, Nile Rodgers was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award, with Outstanding Contribution going to Craig David. See the full list of winners here.
