NEW BURIAL 12-INCH APPEARS AT TORONTO RECORD STORE
'Young Death' sees producer return to Hyperdub...
A new Hyperdub release by Burial has surfaced after a record shop in Toronto sold five copies by mistake on Black Friday.
Featuring two tracks — 'Young Death' and 'Nightmarket' — and catalogued as HDB100, the 12" was delivered to Sonic Boom Records in a box marked "artist/title", shop buyer Blair Whatmore told Pitchfork.
"We assumed it was a Black Friday secret listing. It wasn’t really clear to us that we weren’t supposed to be selling it,” he continued, adding that a representative from Hyperdub has since been in touch and “was not happy”.
Hyperdub are yet to comment on the release publicly, although Burial does have a history of releasing around the festive season as seen with his last year's white label 'Temple Sleeper', his last Hyperdub record 'Rival Dealer' in 2013 and 'Truant' the year before.
